And it’s like, why is this such a horrible phrase? Why do girls cringe in movies when a guy tells them, “I love you.” Why do they respond with a “Thank you” as opposed to an “I love you, too.” And I guess it has to do with the way we’ve interpreted love—love means sex, or getting married, or being tied down, or lacking freedom.

But, that’s really not what love is, right? Love really isn’t any of that. Love is
knowing someone cares. Knowing someone wants to be with you. Knowing someone would sacrifice a lot of important stuff for your well being. Knowing someone wants to hold you. And save you from the misery of yourself. Knowing that Someone is out there waiting for you to just give up the crappy life you live and love them back so you can live an awesome life with that same awesome love that that Someone has for you. 

And that’s because God is love. He is that Someone who loves you. He wants to spend every moment of your life with you. He doesn’t want you to live in misery. He wants to save you from the crap of the world and He does this through His love. And when we realize that God love us, we can’t help but show everyone else this awesome love.

I love you. Maybe you don’t love me. But I just want you to know that I love you, because I’ve experienced God’s love and I want you to feel it, too. I just want you to fall into His arms the way I’ve fallen into them. And I know love isn’t easy. And it takes hard work. And a lot of hard work. And more hard work. But once you love God, it’s like life just becomes ten times better, you know? And I want your life to be ten times better. Because literally I feel like it can’t get better if you don’t love.

I love you and I want to spend eternity and forever with you, just like I want to spend eternity and forever with God. And I want you to spend eternity and forever with God. So all of us can just live a great life in eternity and forever with each other. Because in this new life we’re about to live in the Kingdom of God, there’s no pain. No weeping. No sorrow. No death. Just love.
